Why it is useful

Most PDF tools push files to a cloud server before extracting anything. PDFAnnotations parses PDFs locally in the browser with WebAssembly, so document files are not uploaded for parsing or export. It extracts highlights, comments, sticky notes, and annotations, exports them to Markdown, CSV, TXT, and Pro formats such as Obsidian, Notion, Excel, JSON, and ZIP, and offers a Pro Workspace for filtering and organizing annotations. The workflow suits researchers, students, writers, and lawyers who need to turn PDF markup into reusable notes without uploading sensitive material. Free core tools cover extraction and export with a 3-PDF daily limit; Pro adds higher limits and advanced workflows. Available in 11 languages.
