Timeline Visualizer
timelinevisualizer.org
Free, private Google Maps Timeline visualizer. Open location history JSON, replay your route, and export a travel video in the browser, no upload, no account.
Why it is useful
Google moved Location History onto the phone and retired the web Timeline map, so a years-long travel record is now a JSON file that is hard to read. Timeline Visualizer is a local viewer for that file. It accepts Records.json, timelineObjects, semanticSegments, and plain coordinate arrays, including older Takeout archives and the current on-device export (Timeline.json on Android, location-history.json on iPhone). You open the file in the page. The parser, the moving map, and the video export run in the browser. There is no account and no render queue. You can set the canvas, route color, and pace, and drop the opening and closing points before replay, which matters because a timeline often starts and ends at home. Distance and dates move with the marker, so a trip reads as a story instead of a spreadsheet. The site has a privacy policy and terms of service. The free path is the product: open a file and export. It is not a credit-selling generator.
