Standard Ebooks
standardebooks.org
A volunteer project that produces carefully formatted, beautifully typeset ebooks of public domain literature — far higher quality than most free ebook sites.
Why it is useful
Fills a real gap between poorly formatted Project Gutenberg files and paid ebooks. Every title is proofread, properly typeset with modern CSS, and formatted to work correctly on all major e-readers. The library is intentionally curated rather than exhaustive, which means everything published here is genuinely worth reading.
