A free AI code completion tool supporting 70+ languages and all major editors — providing inline suggestions, a chat interface for code questions, and codebase-aware context through its Windsurf IDE.

Why it is useful

One of the few AI coding tools with a genuinely generous free tier — unlimited completions with no monthly cap. The quality is competitive with GitHub Copilot for most tasks, and the multi-language support is broader. The free tier makes it practical for personal projects, open-source work, and developers who can't justify a subscription. The Windsurf IDE builds on top of Codeium for a more integrated AI-first experience.
